Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about what Clinipract is, how the AI patient works, and what is recorded.

What is Clinipract?
Clinipract is an online practice platform for the MRCGP Simulated Consultation Assessment (SCA). You consult with an AI patient in timed 12-minute stations, then receive examiner-style feedback and track your readiness across the RCGP blueprint.
Is Clinipract affiliated with the RCGP?
No. Clinipract is an independent educational tool. The SCA is set and run by the Royal College of General Practitioners, and Clinipract does not provide official exam content or results.
How does the AI patient work?
Each station has a hidden role-player brief with a presenting problem and the patient's ideas, concerns and expectations. The AI patient answers only what you ask, by voice or typed text, and the station ends at 12 minutes, just like the exam.
What feedback do I get after a consultation?
You rate yourself first, then see examiner-style grading (green, amber or red) across data gathering, clinical management, interpersonal skills, safety-netting, shared decision-making, time management and professionalism, with missed red flags, suggested phrasing and NICE-aligned learning points.
How many cases are there?
Over 160 published stations covering all 12 RCGP clinical experience groups, in telephone and video formats, with new stations added regularly.
Is my voice or webcam recorded?
Your voice is recorded so feedback can be generated and you can replay the consultation. Your webcam is a local preview only and is never recorded or uploaded. Patient images are AI-generated and do not depict real people.
Who is Clinipract for?
GP trainees (GPST2 and GPST3) preparing for the SCA, international medical graduates, and trainers or supervisors who review consultations. Plans and prices are listed on the pricing page.
